Manual Handling - Warsaw and all over Poland 

The Manual Handling training course is dedicated to workers performing duties at height, especially on wind turbines.

Ośrodek Szkolenia Operatorów OSO invites you to the course Manual Handling. The course is designed to familiarise trainees with the potential hazards present in the workplace, the consequences of errors during transport operations and effective methods of minimising risks.  

Wind turbines

The course will prove particularly useful for those involved in building, operating or servicing wind turbines. 

The OSO training centre fully complies with GWO standards, ensuring a high level of training. The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired will enable you to effectively apply the techniques used in manual handling work and to properly operate equipment in the wind turbine area, maintaining safety standards, in accordance with guidelines Manual Handling.

Purpose of the training

Manual Handling 

The primary objective of the training Manual Handling organised by the OSO Training Centre is to prepare participants for physical work on construction sites or when servicing wind turbines. The training programme includes a discussion of the principles of correct lifting and carrying of loads of varying weights and dimensions, and familiarises course participants with techniques for evacuating injured persons from an area at risk in the vicinity of a wind turbine. 

During manual handling

Programme

Training Manual Handling includes theoretical and practical sessions to familiarise participants with manual handling techniques in a wind turbine environment. The course aims to develop correct and safe habits in the participants according to the GWO Manual Handling guidelines. 

At the end of the course, the participant will have acquired knowledge in: 

  • a conscious approach to the performance of professional duties, taking into account aspects of reasonableness, safety and in accordance with local legislation; 
  • correctly identifying potential work-related hazards that may adversely affect the musculoskeletal system; 
  • the use of safe practices and techniques when handling objects by hand, including the correct handling of the necessary equipment; 
  • recognise signs and symptoms resulting from the inappropriate use of manual handling techniques; 
  • develop problem-solving skills for manual handling in the specific environment of wind turbines; 
  • use effective techniques to minimise risks when carrying out manual handling work; 
  • practical scenario-based exercises; 
  • legal issues; 
  • basics of anatomy; 

The CSO Training Centre programme aims to provide participants with the expertise and skills to perform their duties professionally and safely in a wind turbine environment. 

Entitlements

We are accredited by DNV and GWO. 

Training Manual Handling is carried out in accordance with the current standard GWO Basic Safety Training 

Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate confirming the completion of the training and the acquisition of qualifications and skills in the area of manual handling. With the skills acquired, the trainee is prepared to work safely both in the wind energy sector and in other environments where there is a risk of injury during manual handling work. 

Requirements

The following requirements must be met in order to work at heights: 

  • Adult 
  • At least secondary education 
  • valid certificate from an occupational physician that there are no health conditions for working at a height of more than three metres 
  • social security or accident insurance paid 
  • having a WINDA ID number 
  • completed medical questionnaire 
  • paid training fee 
  • identity card 
  • workwear (gloves and work boots) 

The certificate is valid: 24 months 

Maximum number of participants per group: 10-12 persons 

Price

Price of training Manual Handling is determined on an individual basis. The fee depends on the number of participants attending. We offer attractive discounts for larger groups. 

Duration of training: 1 day 

Teaching venue

We provide training at various locations, including Warsaw and our regional branches throughout the country. We also offer training at the client's premises, including travel to the client.
