GWO First Aid - Warsaw and the whole of Poland 

The (FA) First Aid - GWO First Aid Course is dedicated to employees working in the wind turbine sector.

The priority aim of the training is to train course participants in comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the area of providing safe and effective first aid, with an emphasis on aspects specific to wind turbines.  

The OSO training centre fully complies with GWO standards, ensuring a high level of training. The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired will enable you to effectively provide first aid in the area of wind turbines, maintaining safety principles, in accordance with GWO First Aid guidelines.

Purpose of the training

GWO First Aid - GWO first aid course 

The GWO Medical First Aid training course is dedicated to employees working in the wind energy sector. The aim of the training is to provide participants with the necessary skills in the area of providing medical support in emergency situations occurring on offshore platforms and wind farms. At the end of the training, participants should be competent to respond efficiently in life or health-threatening situations, be able to provide first aid, and be proficient in the use of specialised medical equipment and first aid kits. 

Programme

First Aid Training GWO First Aid is a regular part of the Basic Safety Training package. The training serves to familiarise participants with the legal aspects involved in first aid. Course participants gain knowledge in the basics of human anatomy, first aid, the use of the AED defibrillator and procedures for action during accidents. Students have the opportunity to apply the skills they have learnt in practice, during a realistic incident simulation.  

Completion of the course allows participants to become competent to work at height. The training programme provides wind turbine technicians with the highest level of safety, which is particularly important given the location of wind turbines in areas remote from emergency services. 

At the training GWO First Aid (GWO First Aid Course) participants will gain the necessary knowledge and skills in: 

  • Safe first aid, taking into account local legislation and guidelines from the European Resuscitation Council and the American Cardiovascular Society; 
  • Recognise symptoms and respond appropriately to serious injury or sudden illness; 
  • Emergency action sequences in a wind turbine environment; 
  • Correct use of first aid equipment in accordance with the C-A-B-C-D-E basic examination protocol; 
  • Effective use of an automated external defibrillator (AED); 
  • Procedure for dealing with a fracture, head injury or poisoning; 
  • Procedure for dealing with cuts, burns, electrocution, shock or heat stroke; 
  • Accurately perform follow-up examinations during first aid; 
  • Professional use of first aid equipment. The experience is based on practice scenarios; 
  • First aid management for people with chronic diseases 
  • Handling of medical equipment such as stretchers, orthopaedic collars and orthopaedic cuffs; 

Entitlements

We are accredited by DNV and GWO. 

Training GWO First Aid is carried out in accordance with the current standard GWO Basic Safety Training.  

Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate of completion. Course completion certificate GWO First Aid Medical First Aid is a document confirming that the trainee has acquired the necessary knowledge in first aid and the management of life-threatening situations. 

Requirements

The following requirements must be met in order to work at heights: 

  • Adult 
  • At least secondary education 
  • valid certificate from an occupational physician that there are no health conditions for working at a height of more than three metres 
  • social security or accident insurance paid 
  • having a WINDA ID number 
  • completed medical questionnaire 
  • paid training fee 
  • identity card 

The certificate is valid: 24 months 

Maximum number of participants per group: 10-12 persons 

Price

Price of training GWO First Aid is determined on an individual basis. The fee depends on the number of participants attending. We offer attractive discounts for larger groups. 

Duration of training: 2 days 

Teaching venue

We provide training at various locations, including Warsaw and our regional branches throughout the country. We also offer training at the client's premises, including travel to the client.
