Escalators - definition Escalators are mainly used for transport work in the industrial sector, where they are ideal for use on production halls or relatively small construction sites. Their most important task is to move equipment, tools and - depending on the type - people. Such transport can take place both vertically and horizontally. In a sense, therefore, they have a function similar to that of an industrial lift, except that in most cases the platform can be moved to another location. Mobile platforms can also be divided by the way they are powered. These include platforms: manual, Electrical, combustion. There are many different types of mobile platforms that use a variety of design solutions. They can use appropriate mechanisms based on ropes, winches, masts, jacks and vehicle chassis. Basket platforms Basket platforms are also known as stepladders. Their most important and distinctive feature is, as the name suggests, the baskets, which are special platforms, usually with barriers, that are used to move workers. They are most often used for specialised work at height. These are usually maintenance, installation or service work. Scissor lifts Most scissor lifts - like the aerial work platform - consist of a platform - lifted by a special platform shaped like a scissor, which is where its name comes from. The whole structure is also similar to a spring mechanism, which also plays its part. This makes the whole device much more stable and therefore safer. Like all mobile platforms, its main purpose is to transport loads and people to places that are difficult to reach, higher up. Questions and Answers What are mobile platforms most commonly used for?
